The discussion looked interesting.....I hope some positive projects came out of it for you guys and thanks for sharing the great information.
I have been writing and thinking about this a lot but I really think we are long overdue to begin brainstorming as an African community (both online and off) about how we are going to fully leverage the huge communication channel that is mobile phones to improve the lives of Africans.
Things like Ushahidi and the project started in Brazil by the professor (hope you saw it in this video that Hash posted up: http://whiteafrican.com/?p=999 ) should be discussed within the context of all the things they are doing right and can be improved upon and most of all we should get some projects started.
I think as a result of the low barriers to information transfer via the Internet - free basically - many low cost projects can get on the ground if we are truly committed.
Secondly, I must thank you and Erik for first introducing me to Mama Mike's.....the project is absolutely brilliant and I hope that over the coming years their firm just expands and thrives. It's always fantastic to see someone make a buck of doing good and Mama Mike's is doing that and doing it well.......
Don't worry about how you came off on camera, me thinks once you get in front of the camera a few times, one will eventually get comfortable with it. Good luck as your online profile continues to expand.
