[...] The Nest Home in Limuru has a new signboard off Tigoni Road. This is what it looks like! Its bright and yellow with our bird’s nest logo up-front. The signboard is an invitation: we would like to welcome all those old and new friends of The Nest to come and visit the kids at The Nest. It´s been fantastic how this weblog has already connected a number of visitors with The Nest and how the kids of at The Nest benefit from the concern and inspiration. I would like to mention the visit of a group of Kenyan bloggers at The Nest (to read their story click HERE) who made it out to The Nest just recently. For all those who are yet to visit, here is our map once again (hint! hint!) The Nest Home is located in Limuru; approx. 20kms from the Village Market on Limuru Road. Welcome! [...]

Thank you for taking time to visit the Nest last sato! And thx!! for the great TEDGlobal coverage!

As for that solar heater installation, the story goes that someone sold these popular rubber wrist some years ago (you know these ones that used to be popular in 2005, like the one from "Make Poverty history" (sic!)) and contributed like 10% of the sales to the Nest. They then continued to purchase this equipment, somehow managed to get it into the country, cleared if of customs and had a professional installing it.

The very same guys also installed solar cookers but I never saw that machine in action so far...

Lovely insight on the Nest, pleased to see KBW crew contribution and leading the way in acknowledging the least priviledged in our society and reaching to them so they know that there many who care.
Hopefully, your kind gesture will inspire others to give back not just to the Nest but to the many others who have no nest right now to call their own and we know there are many out there .
