Wangari’s Kenya – Vid on Current

Vid by Bill Finnegan on Current screening room about Wangari Maathai’s conservation effort. Watch it and do greenlight it so it can appear on current tv.

  1. Thank
you Afromusing for the vid. I enjoyed it. Wangari should be applauded
for the great work she does for Kenyan’s environment – and you for
bringing her work to the forefront

  2. Thats
a cool video, it sprinkled some home sick dust…haha! it also reminds
me of some Americans in my colle’ asking me why wangari maathai hit a
nation camera man. “I thot she was a respectable noble prize winner and
a first lady?” I had a hard time trying to explain “Rucy” and Wangari
    are two different pple.

  3. That was an awesome video :-) Can you give me a *Geek point* by visiting my site and leaving your country’s flag?
    I know I’m sad .. but there are 193 countries out there & I have only 74 !

  4. watched
the vid, thanks for the link. it was very educational. as for your
question about Omo, here’s my 2 cents (but i’m no expert on the issue)
    - its hard to tell if detergents are biodegradable cos they don’t have
a list of ingredients as they are not required to have one. but studies
have been done on the effects of common detergent ingredients and their
effects are usually not favourable to the environment. but to have a
large scale effect, the quantities would have to be quite substantial
and concentrated in a certain area. a good starting point to find out
    more is http://www.laundry-alternative.com/detergentsinfo.html. hope
    that helped answer your question

  5. Wangari
Maathai does her people proud. There’s no nonsense about her. I would
like to see a televised debate between her and that ignoramous that
works for Monsanto, whose job it is to cheat poor farmers that
genetically modified seeds will enhance productivity.

What that Monsanto-ite doesn’t preach about is the threat to medium to long term food security.

My hat is off to Wangari Maathai.
